Held on the third Sunday of June in the UK, it is a day to honour our wonderful fathers and father figures all over the country.
Father’s Day is especially dear to us at Christies. Over five generations ago in 1820, Thomas Christie rented some rough-land at the top of the ‘new town’ in Fochabers for Two Pounds, Eleven Shillings and Six Pence; and literally (as well as figuratively) began to grow mighty oaks from little acorns. He left his son a true local legacy that the family has nurtured and built on over the years.
And here we are today – 196 years later – at Christies’ Garden Centre, able to celebrate the work that all of our fathers have accomplished. We will, of course, be celebrating Ronald Christie who is carrying the Christies’ family tradition forward. And we look forward to welcoming you, your families and your fathers or father figures who do so much for you in their own way.
Invite them to spend the day with you at Christies. There’s nothing more rewarding than some good old-fashioned quality time together.
Christies, from our family to yours. More than just a Garden Centre.
Wishing you all a special and very memorable Father’s Day.
