The Challenge 100 is pretty easy to explain.
It’s simply me, running 100 miles (not all in one go) and trekking 100 km (all in one go).
The not-so-simple bit is that the 100 miles running will take place at the following local events:
|Portsoy Follow the Herring Run||June 2016 6.2 miles|
|Forres Highland Games 10k||July 2016 6.2 miles|
|Ballater Road Race||July 2016 10 miles|
|Speyside Windfarm Challenge 10K Knockandoo||August 2016 6.2 miles|
|Room to Run Huntly 10k||September 6.2 miles|
|Scottish Half Marathon||September 13 miles|
|Baxters River Ness 10k||September 2016 6.2 miles|
|Culloden 17.46k||October 2016 10 miles|
|Aviemore Half Marathon||October 2016 13 miles|
– More will be added so keep watching! –
And the 100km trek, in February 2017, will be across the SAHARA DESERT. Yes, the Sahara Desert.
So, here’s my invite for you to join me on this journey; I won’t be able to achieve any of this without your moral support and kind donations. Are you ready? I am. Let the Challenge 100 begin!
My aim is to raise £5000 for Lupus Research and MFR Cash for Kids, which I’ll talk more about in later posts. You only need to Google these charities and the vulnerable people they support to realise that 100 km across the Sahara and 100 miles running is insignificant compared to the challenges they live through on a daily basis.
